Search Disciplines

Each canine discipline is developed for a distinct operational purpose, allowing the team to adapt to terrain, incident type, and search objectives.

USAR Air-scenting

Air-scenting dogs are trained to detect human scent in complex environments, supporting urban search and rescue operations and wide-area searches where speed and coverage are critical.

Tracking Dogs

Tracking dogs follow ground disturbance and scent trails left by a subject, helping teams work methodically through rural and mixed terrain.

Man-trailing Dogs

Man-trailing dogs follow the individual scent of a specific person, providing a focused capability when there is a known subject to locate.

Human Remains Detection

Human remains detection dogs provide a highly specialist capability to support search operations, evidence-led response, and recovery activity with professionalism and care.

Operational Readiness

Our handlers and dogs train regularly to maintain readiness for real-world deployments. This includes search planning, scent theory, navigation, teamwork, and safe working practices in varied conditions.

The canine team works alongside rescue, medical, and support personnel so that search activity is coordinated, accountable, and effective when communities need assistance most.
