What Our Rescue Team Does

The rescue team is a small but vital part of the unit, supporting field operations with practical response capability, scene assistance, and close coordination with specialist teams.

Operational Support

Rescuers support search teams on the ground, helping with access, movement, equipment handling, and safe working practices in demanding environments.

Canine Team Support

We work alongside USAR air-scenting dogs, tracking dogs, man-trailing dogs, and human remains detection dogs to support structured search activity.

Drone Coordination

The team supports drone-led searches using aircraft of different sizes for different scenarios, helping extend visibility and improve situational awareness.

Medical Assistance

Rescue personnel work closely with our medical team, helping provide first aid support during incidents and assisting during disasters and community response.

Prepared Through Training

Our rescue capability is strengthened by regular in-house training, practical exercises, and close collaboration with the wider unit.

From fieldcraft and casualty handling to coordination with medical, canine, and drone teams, training helps ensure our responders are ready to assist effectively when deployed.
